Review of the reissue of Voice of the Beehive’s second album ‘Honey Lingers’. Was hoping to write it for We Are Cult but I found my old notes, and decided to knock them back into the article I would have written given the chance.
So this is the original version of a review I submitted for 1001 TV Series You Must Watch Before You Die. Something got published in that book, but none of it was written by me despite going out under my name. So here’s the original. And I think it’s way better. (I mean, I would, but I do genuinely think that.)
So… one of my favourite things is the Amazon Prime TV adaptation of the Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman novel “Good Omens”. This is my attempt at novelising one of the scenes which isn’t taken from the novel. Just did it as a writing exercise, really, but hopefully I got the style of the original book close enough.
Slightly odd one this, it’s something a young Lee Binding and I wrote one evening in a fit of creative frenzy, referencing the wonderful BBC Radio comedy series “Round the Horne”.
A review I wrote for We Are Cult regarding the third (THIRD!) reissue of Donna Summer’s Stock/Aitken/Waterman-produced album “Another Place and Time”.
The thing I’m most proud of is that within seconds of being published an account on twitter described it as “woke, bent, nonsense”. Which I happily take as a compliment, frankly.
